This stone has a huge connection to the Apache Culture and their history! Apache Tears are a form of volcanic glass, so named after the story. In summary, it has been said that during a battle between the Apache's and Americans, the Apache warriors found themselves surrounded, at the edge of a cliff. To spare themselves from being killed by the hands of their enemies, the warriors threw themselves and their horses, off the edge of the cliff. The women of the tribes', were filled with grief and their tears flooded the grounds and seeped into the Earth. Many believe these tears, held an integral part in the forming of the Apache Tear crystal.

These stones are only found in the USA, particularly Nevada and Arizona, (desert like areas).
