Blue Dumortierite Quartz- Dumortierite is the mineral responsible for Blue Aventurine's colour. The reason why they can look so different, is because there are many dyed Blue Aventurines on the market!

To help identify natural or true Blue Aventurine/Dumortierite, we look for darker bandings, that are present in layers of Quartzite! These darker layers are concentrated Dumortierite, on a slightly lighter background colour. They can also present themselves in clumps or splodges!

You can find high quality Clear Quartz, with fluffy, star burst inclusions of Dumortierite, which are highly prized by collectors!
