Lepidolite is a form of Mica, so can look completely different when paired with Quartz.

What we see on the market, usually is an array of violet tones with sections of white. This is Lepidolite with Quartz... but no one ever tells you that!

In it's true form, Lepidolite can be quite brittle, in a dark purple/maroon combination and gold/pink flashes! Very beautiful, but considerably pricier!

Occasionally, you will come across small blue inclusions; these little beauties are Kyanite! 

If it has dark pink inclusions, this is Pink Tourmaline and has been branded, 'Unicorn Stone'!
